Ingen fad.

This is a wine of power, energy and breadth, made from 3ha of vines in this fine right bank site just south of the grands crus. Like Michel’s village Chablis it’s still an infant, but you can sense its density and power quietly building like water behind a dam. Elemental, brooding notes reminiscent of plant sap and ground stone lurk in that resonant, aromatic inarticulacy, yet its mute force succeeds in seeming concentrated, close-grained and sheer in the mouth.

    92 p. Wine Advocate (årgang 2016)

The 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre offers up aromas of lemon oil, lime zest and honeycomb, framed by a subtle touch of reduction. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, pure and glossy, with more cut and tension than the Vaulorent, without quite matching the liveliness and energy of the Séchet. - Williiam Kelley

    94 p. View from the Cellar (2014)

Guillaume’s 2014 Montée de Tonnerre is a brilliant example of this vineyard in a top flight vintage. The stellar nose delivers a youthfully complex mélange of green apple, pink grapefruit, very complex minerality, white flowers, incipient notes of beeswax and a nice touch of flintiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with a fine sense of reserve, excellent focus and grip and superb mineral drive on the very long and impeccably well-balanced finish. - John Gilman

    90-92 p. Vinous (2014)

Subtle, pure, scented nose combines stone fruits, crushed rock, spices and a touch of flinty minerality. Big and rich in the mouth but still a bit youthfully compact, conveying a dusty impression of extract from its strong underlying minerality. Finishes tactile and long. - Stephen Tanzer

    94 p. Decanter (2014)

Precise, with balanced, lingering lime acidity, minerality and a pronounced fragrance of flowe blossom. Pure, long and very stylish notes of shellfish. Has great capacity for further ageing. - Andy Howard MW
